When I am in the photographic zone I feel authentic, free, and fulfilled.
I live in Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina, in a fine old neighborhood with trees, sidewalks, and girls walking dogs. Many of my pictures are taken within a few steps of my apartment, and if I go a little further, there are plenty of construction sites and historic homes to snoop.
I gravitate toward photographing objects in the process of destruction. Beautiful decay. I could analyze this at length, but I'd rather you look at my pictures.
A photograph is neither taken nor seized by force. It offers itself up. It is the photo that takes you. One must not take photos. --Henri Cartier-Bresson
